High Tea at the Burj Dubai Hotel

The Burj Al Arab is the iconic seven star hotel in Dubai . It is situated on an artificial island and is shaped like the sail of a dhow. From the sea the mast looks like a giant cross.

Tea is in the Sky View Bar on the 27th floor—in the “cross”. This was a highlight of our trip - wow! It started with a glass of Moet & Chandon champagne, a platter of sandwiches and cakes (on a tray shaped like the hotel), followed by tea—a choice of tens of different teas or coffees and hot scones, and finished off with a delicious chocolate.

Out and About on Mbingu

We are thoroughly enjoying splashing around on Mbingu. Here we are on our first solo expedition. Had a wonderful day exploring the east coast of Bahrain.

The Yacht Club

We are now officially members of the Bahrain Yacht Club and Mbingu has a housie too!
We are definitely going to be spending time at the club - there is a beach to enjoy, restaurants, a big covered pool and of course wine!! Need I say more. Oh yes, and a boat!

Mbingu - ready for action!!!

Many-a-weekend will now be spent at the Yacht Club and on the water.
Will be able to go on our own dolphin safaris, and do our own sundowner cruises!

The making of Mbingu

The Marshalls are now the proud owners of Mbingu!
“Mbingu” (Swahili for “Little Piece of Heaven”) is our new 24’ fishing boat that we bought with Casper and Mariette.

Mbingu’s finally in the water at the Bahrain Yacht Club and ready for her first adventure which will be on Worker’s Day. What better way to spend a holiday.

Walking the dogs.

After weight watchers we would all go doggie walking along the beach.
Good exercise. Miss you Annabel!!!!

South African Braai

We joined Annabel and Peter at their table.
Had a fantastic evening. South African food, sokkie music and brandy and coke.

There were about 300 people at the braai - hardly knew any of them.

2008 Bahrain Grand Prix

Another great Grand Prix. Went on all three days. Yay Ferrari!!!

Dubai Desert Safari

On one of our trips to Dubai we went on a desert safari!!

Had a great time. Dun riding, camels, Sand boarding, Henna painting
and getting dressed up arab
